Are these legal?

LokPins or myself is not your lawyer. Act in accordance to your local laws.

Short answer, yes. You have a first amendment right to free speech protected from the government*

*Legal Notice and Use Disclaimer

LokPins provides decorative and accessory products intended for cosmetic and non-critical use only. We are not your lawyer, and this content is not legal advice.

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any modifications or attachments to a firearm comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Firearm laws vary widely and may change over time. You should consult a qualified attorney or relevant authority for guidance specific to your situation.

In general, we do not advise placing any non-essential accessory, including LokPins products, on firearms intended for everyday carry (EDC) or duty use.

Any modification that could impact reliability, handling, or perception in a defensive scenario should be carefully evaluated.

Additionally, users should be aware that modifications, markings, or accessories applied to a firearm may be scrutinized in legal proceedings following a defensive use incident.

By using LokPins products, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for their use and any associated legal or safety implications.

Is there a legal precedent?

Yes, sort of.

United States v. Brailsford demonstrates that juries retain independent judgment, including how they interpret evidence, intent, and presentation. While rare and highly context-dependent, factors beyond the mechanical function of a firearm may influence outcomes in court.

This case is truly shocking, and I don't think any decent person would agree with it.  This is from an officer perspective and being a civilian would change the context of the case dramatically. We advise you to use your best judgement about how you configure your (stuff) regardless of what it is. Anything could be brought up in a trial to bring up "state of mind" if it is attached you your firearm or not.

Would This make a difference?

Truly hard to say. Rule of law is diminishing in the US (Part of the mission of this store is to address the attitudes around this)

Prosecutors will commonly look into all aspects of your personality, social media posts, items at home, etc. It is hard to say how something on a firearm will be construed. This is partially why I durn down so many suggestions for LokPins, I do not want them to advocate violence and be used in that way. United States v. Brailsford  for example, I would not advocate for that or "Smile, wait for flash" type sayings.

What I recommend:

If you are unsure, then don't. I recommend using these for range and personal use, not EDC.
